I wouldn't trade it for the world. Once you've used one you'll hate horrible cheap smushy modern keyboards. Plus it can stun burglars. And yes, that's GNOME. I've always run GNOME, ever since I started on MDK back with 8.1. Fred Crozat (MDV's GNOME packager) is a great guy and a great packager, I've always found his GNOME to be very well built.
